Bret Michaels shares teaser of new single, 'Back in the Day'

'It's just a good-vibe song, and that’s what it is," Michaels says

Bret Michaels recently announced his Parti Gras 2023 tour, which will be hitting 12 amphitheaters across the U.S. beginning in July. Support on the outing will come from Night Ranger and Jefferson Starship, with the Bret Michaels Band headlining the evening. Joining Michaels and his band onstage will be a variety of special guests, including Sugar Ray singer Mark McGrath, former Journey front man Steve Augeri and Night Ranger bassist and singer Jack Blades.

In addition, the singer also revealed he’ll be releasing a new solo single, “Back in the Day,” in January. He has now shared a snippet of the song, which, in a new interview with Guy "Favazz" Favazza of St. Louis, Missouri radio station KSHE 95, he called a "throwback roadtrip anthem."

As for how he wrote the track, Michaels explained, "I was driving in the car, and I'm driving along the beach, and… so I do this crazy TikTok thing, I show people how I write music. I say, 'Don't fear it.' I'm laying a beat, I'm playing the guitar. And I'm like, [sings] 'Back in the day, radio played, our favorite songs, the DJs would say.' And crank it up. And it just, it all hit me. And the song just fell together. It's just a good-vibe song, and that’s what it is."
