Godsmack share new single, 'You and I,' detail final studio album, 'Lighting Up the Sky'

'I believe it’s a story everyone will connect to, on a human level,' front man Sully Erna says about the new record

After teasing fans last month with a new single, "Surrender," Godsmack have officially announced details for their forthcoming eighth studio album, Lighting Up the Sky.

The new effort, which singer and guitarist Sully Erna has said will be the band's final studio album, is the follow-up to 2018's When Legends Rise. It was co-produced by Erna and Andrew “Mudrock” Murdock (Avenged Sevenfold, Alice Cooper), and , will be released on February 24, 2023 via BMG.

Said Erna about Lighting Up the Sky, “I like when a record takes you on a journey from front to back. I realized there’s a whole story here about one man’s journey, the ups, and downs. I believe it’s a story everyone will connect to, on a human level, because we’ve all gone through things in life.”
