Listen to new David Lee Roth solo song, 'Pointing at the Moon'

'You cannot go back,' DLR sings in piano-and-acoustic-guitar ballad

Late last year David Lee Roth surprise-released a set of largely acoustic solo songs that saw him backed by a band consisting of John 5 on guitar and bass, Gregg Bissonette on drums, Brett Tuggle on keyboards and percussionist Luis Conte. Those songs – "Giddy-Up!," "Somewhere Over the Rainbow Bar and Grill," "Lo-Rez Sunset," “Alligator Pants" and "Manda Bala," had been recorded roughly 10 years earlier, and finally saw the light of day as part of his newly-released online comic, The Roth Project.

Now, Roth has unveiled another new song, ”Pointing at the Moon," accompanied by a video featuring his own artwork. No information has been offered on when or with whom “Pointing at the Moon” was recorded, but the track, built around piano and acoustic guitar, and with a slight country-tinged feel in the lead guitar melody, follows in a similar vein to the 2021-released material. You can check it out above.
