Listen to Slipknot conjure Type O Negative vibes on brooding new song, 'Yen'

Seventh album, 'THE END, SO FAR,' is out September 30

We’ve already been treated to “The Chapelton Rag” and “The Dying Song,” two characteristically rampaging cuts from Slipknot’s forthcoming seventh studio album, THE END, SO FAR. Now, the band has shared a third new cut, this one a dark, brooding track titled “Yen.”

Slipknot front man Corey Taylor has said the new song is one of his favorites on the new record, and described it as taking a "Type O [Negative] approach" that also is "kind of touching our inner Tom Waits in weird ways.”

Check it out above and see if you agree with Taylor.

THE END, SO FAR is out September 30 via Roadrunner Records. You can pre-order it on CD and/or vinyl from the Metal Edge shop.
