Listen to ‘The Cure,’ the slow-burning, bluesy new single from Phoenix rockers the Black Moods

The young power trio will release their third full-length, 'Into the Night,' in June

If you’re not familiar with the Black Moods yet, well, you should be. The Phoenix-based trio – singer and guitarist Josh Kennedy, bassist Jordan Hoffman and drummer Chico Diaz – have played with everyone from Whitesnake to the Dead Daisies to the Doors’ Robbie Krieger, which paints an appropriate picture of what you’re getting with the group: raw, riff-heavy, blues-drenched rock delivered with a nod to the classic acts that came before them, but filtered through a youthful, high-energy lens.

The Black Moods are releasing their third full-length studio effort, the Johnny K-produced Into the Night, on June 3 via Wit Hustle/The Orchard/Steelhorse Entertainment, and have been slowly rolling out singles during the lead-up. Now, Metal Edge is premiering the newest video from the record, for the sultry slow-burner, “The Cure.”

"To me, ‘The Cure’ is the bluesiest song we have," Kennedy told Metal Edge. It came together very naturally and has all the sex appeal in it. It’s a love song about something being so good, but so bad for you at the same time. She’s Bella Donna.”
