Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee rip through Mötley Crüe's 'Live Wire' with the Foo Fighters at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in L.A.

'You can’t really play a gig in Los Angeles without having these guys come jam with you,' Dave Grohl says

Following Def Leppard's two-song Pyromania mini-set at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert on September 27, Dave Grohl kept L.A.'s Kia Forum rocking by welcoming Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee to the stage.

"Taylor always told me stories about growing up down in Laguna, the Los Angeles area," Grohl told the audience. "And he had more than a few stories about these next artists that are coming up to play with us. Not only did Taylor become friends [with them], but he had a lot of respect for these guys. You can’t really play a gig in Los Angeles without having these guys come jam with you. Let’s have fucking Motley Crue come up onstage!"

And with that, Sixx and Lee came out to massive cheers and kicked into "Live Wire," with Grohl and the Foo Fighters backing them up, and Classless Act vocalist and Stadium Tour alumnus Derek Day handling the vocals. They wrapped up the two-song set with a rendition of "Home Sweet Home."
