Staind's first album in more than a decade to be released in 2023

The follow-up to their 2011 self-titled effort in underway, according to guitarist Mike Mushok

Nu-metal survivors Staind are currently out on their Evening with Staind tour, but as revealed by guitarist Mike Mushok, the band also has new material in the works.

A new interview with the guitarist in Western Mass News confirmed that the band’s first album since their 2011 self-titled effort will be released next year.

This would be Staind’s first new album in more than a decade, and their eighth studio effort overall.

Back in June 2021, Mushok told Audio Ink Radio that the band was already in the process of putting together new music.

“There’s a bunch of songs kicking around,” he said. “It’s just kind of sorting through that stuff and seeing what, if anything, we like and figuring out. I imagine having not put out a real record of new music in 10 years, we’re going to be pretty critical of what it is and want to make sure that it’s great. But, yes, there is talk of that. We actually signed a record deal and have a deal to do a new record.”
