'Sugar: The Nu-Metal Party' announces nationwide tour

Feel like a freak on a leash all over again

To paraphrase Korn, "Are you ready!?" Sugar: The Nu-Metal Party, a DJ-hosted event celebrating the scene that brought the world Korn, System of a Down, Deftones, Slipknot and more, will be making its debut in multiple U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Detroit and Atlanta, this March.

Said lead DJ Brian Howe, "I think that nu-metal is one of the most impactful subgenres of heavy metal to ever exist in terms of how it rippled through the pop-culture of the time.

"It's already been about 25 years since bands like Korn and Limp Bizkit were all over MTV and if every other culturally significant genre of music from the past 5 decades can have its own dance night why not nu-metal? As someone who loved listening to these bands as a kid and enjoys going out with friends as an adult it just makes perfect sense for us to create a 'nu' space where these bands and the genre can be celebrated."
