The temperature may have dropped by the time Guns N’ Roses took the Power Trip stage at 10pm, but that didn’t stop Hollywood’s glam-punk heroes from scorching earth and melting faces.

The last time Guns played these fabled Coachella grounds, Axl sang the entire set from a throne. This time around, the king of the jungle returned with both wheels working, and presence to spare.

Opener “It’s So Easy” bled into “Bad Obsession,” “Chinese Democracy” slammed into “Slither,” and “Pretty Tied Up” paved a path of sexual deviance into the drug addled depravity of “Mr Brownstone.”

Enjoy these clips of the two set openers, with more to come when I get to a wifi connection and have some time to process the bombast, throw back a few beers (ok, a few more), and wrap up night one before priming the pumps for the almighty AC/DC and Judas Priest tomorrow.

Rock on!
