Watch Kirk Hammett join Journey for 'Wheel in the Sky' and 'Enter Sandman' in Honolulu

'Super fun and hope to hang again soon,' the Metallica guitarist said afterward

Journey recently performed at Neal S. Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, and the legendary rock band were joined by a current Oahu resident: Kirk Hammett.

The Metallica guitarist, an avid surfer with a home in Honolulu, came onstage with his “Greeny” Gibson Les Paul to play Journey’s 1978 classic, “Wheel in the Sky.” Roughly halfway through, the band kicked into Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” with front man Arnel Pineda belting out the first few lines before Hammett ripped out a solo.

Afterward, Hammett posted about the experience on his oficial Instagram page, writing, “Had a wonderful couple days hanging out with Neal and the guys from Journey - Thanks so much guys for having me jam on Wheel In the Sky, super fun and hope to hang again soon!

Much , much Aloha !!!!”
