Watch Kiss open for Aerosmith in 1974 in the first clip from Neil Bogart biopic ‘Spinning Gold’

Long-in-the-works film chronicles the career of the Casablanca Records founder

Spinning Gold, the long-in-the-works biopic about Casablanca Records founder Neil Bogart is finally in post-production, and the first clip from the film, directed by Bogart’s son Tim Bogart, has now been shared online.

The Spinning Gold cast includes rapper Wiz Khalifa, Saturday Night Live’s Jay Pharoah and Chris Redd, Cobra Kai’s Peyton List and The Sopranos’ Vinnie Pastore, among many others. This film is currently being screened to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival.

Said Tim Bogart of the project (via Variety): “Born Neil Bogatz in the Brooklyn projects where he plotted his dreams and schemes to escape from poverty, Neil Bogart was my father — and it’s taken me over twenty years to finally tell his story.

“And I know people say that all the time, but the first option on the film really was back in 1999. From there, through obstacles nearly as challenging as what my father faced in bringing Casablanca Records to the world, the obstacles in bringing this film to light were just as daunting.”
