Watch Metallica play throwback thrash show to honor Megaforce Records founders

The band paid tribute to Jonny and Marsha Zazula with a 'Kill 'Em All' and 'Ride the Lightning' set

Last night, November 6, Metallica played a special show at the 7,000-capacity Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, to honor the life and legacy of Megaforce Records founder Jon "Jonny Z" Zazula and his wife Marsha Zazula, who died in 2022 and 2021, respectively.

Megaforce launched Metallica's career by releasing the band's first two albums, 1983’s Kill ‘Em All and 1984’s Ride the Lightning, and in recognition of that early support, the band played a set devoted entirely to those two seminal records.

What’s more, the opening act for the gig was none other than legendary British metallers Raven, another former Megaforce band, and the group that Metallica initially supported on the 1983 Kill ‘Em All for One tour.
