Watch pro video of Metallica performing 'The Call of Ktulu' and 'Blitzkrieg' at throwback thrash show

The band dedicated 'Ktulu' to late bassist Cliff Burton

On November 6, Metallica played a special show at the 7,000-capacity Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, to honor the life and legacy of Megaforce Records founder Jon "Jonny Z" Zazula and his wife Marsha Zazula, who died in 2022 and 2021, respectively.

We were recently treated to pro-shot footage of the band performing the Kill 'Em All classic, "Phantom Lord," and now the band has offered up professionally-filmed footage of the Blitzkrieg cover, "Blitzkrieg," as well as the classic Ride the Lightning instrumental "The Call of Ktulu," which they dedicated to their late bassist, Cliff Burton.

Megaforce launched Metallica's career by releasing the band's first two albums, 1983’s Kill ‘Em All and 1984’s Ride the Lightning, and in recognition of that early support, the band played a set devoted entirely to those two seminal records.

You can check out "Blitzkrieg" above and "The Call of Ktulu" below.
